Where to watch Helstrom
In the US, Helstrom streams on Hulu. That surprises a lot of viewers, since most Marvel series now sit on Disney Plus, but Helstrom was made for Hulu and stayed there. If you only subscribe to Disney Plus, check your plan before you set aside a weekend for it. Outside the US, availability varies by country, so look at the watch box on this page for your region.
The season runs 10 episodes of about 50 minutes each, roughly eight hours in all. That is a two- or three-night binge rather than a single sitting, and the slow-burn horror pacing rewards watching an episode or two at a time.
Where Helstrom fits in the Marvel timeline
Helstrom came out in 2020 as the last live-action series from the old Marvel Television division, the same studio behind the Netflix shows and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It has no required viewing and no crossovers with the films. The heroes, the villains and the rules of its supernatural world are all introduced inside the show.
That makes its position on any watch order a little arbitrary. Our list goes by its story year, so it sits right after Avengers: Endgame and before Loki, a time-bending Disney Plus series that could hardly feel more different. Neither of them refers to Helstrom, and Helstrom never mentions the Avengers. Treat those neighbors as bookmarks rather than story links.

Helstrom explained: the story without spoilers
Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the grown children of a notorious serial killer, and they have spent their lives dealing with what that means. Daimon is a university ethics professor with a quiet side job that involves possessed people. Ana is sharper and colder, and she hunts down the worst kind of criminals in her own way. The two siblings have not been close for years.
Their mother, Victoria, has been locked away in a psychiatric facility for most of their lives. When something dark starts stirring around her again, Daimon and Ana are pulled back together, along with a small circle of allies who know more about demons than they let on. The tone is pure horror: exorcisms, cults and family trauma, with far less humor than a typical Marvel title.
What the show is really about is inheritance. Both siblings fear they carry something of their father in them, and the supernatural plot keeps forcing that question into the open. If you go in expecting a family drama dressed as a horror show, the pacing makes more sense.
Is Helstrom worth watching?
We rate it optional. Nothing in the MCU films or Disney Plus series depends on it, and Marvel has not followed up on its story. The show ended after a single season, so some threads are left open, and you should go in knowing there is no second season to resolve them.
Who might enjoy it? Horror fans who like supernatural TV and do not need superhero spectacle. Viewers who liked the darker Marvel Television shows will feel at home. If you came for capes and team-ups, you can skip Helstrom without losing anything.
Cast and characters
Paul Zbyszewski runs the show. Tom Austen plays Daimon Helstrom, calm on the outside and struggling with what he can do. Sydney Lemmon is Ana Helstrom, his fierce and secretive sister. Elizabeth Marvel plays their mother, Victoria, and gives the series its most unsettling scenes. Robert Wisdom is Henry, known as the Caretaker, who looks after Ana. June Carryl plays Dr. Louise Hastings, an ally with ties to the Church, and Ariana Guerra is Gabriella Rosetti, a Vatican envoy who joins the investigation.
Planning a full Marvel Television run
If Helstrom is part of a completionist project, watch it in its listed spot after Endgame, or move it to a quiet week between bigger titles, since nothing depends on it.
