Where to watch Agatha All Along
Agatha All Along premiered on Disney Plus in September 2024, and that is still its home in the US. It is a single season of 9 episodes averaging about 42 minutes, so the whole run takes a little over six hours. A long weekend is plenty.
Outside the US, availability varies by country. The watch box on this page lists the current options where you are, so check it before you settle in.
What to watch before Agatha All Along
What really matters is WandaVision. Agatha's whole situation at the start of this series comes from how that show ends, and one character's arc pays off things WandaVision only hinted at. Skip it and you will follow the plot, but several reveals will land flat.
| Title | Needed? | Why |
|---|
| WandaVision | Yes | Introduces Agatha and explains why she starts powerless |
| Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness | Helpful | Shows where Wanda's story went after Westview |
| Any other MCU title | No | The series is self-contained beyond these two |
If you have seen WandaVision a while ago, a quick refresher on its last two episodes is enough. You do not need the films in between to enjoy the Road.
Agatha All Along explained (no spoilers)
Agatha Harkness is not having a good time. She has lost her powers, her memory is scrambled, and she has been playing a TV detective in a town that is not quite real. Once she breaks loose, she needs her magic back, and the only route she trusts is the Witches' Road, a legendary path of trials that supposedly rewards whoever reaches the end.
You cannot walk the Road alone, so Agatha has to assemble a coven. Her recruits are a group of washed-up or reluctant witches, plus a mysterious teenager who is pushy about joining and very cagey about who he is. Each episode throws a new trial at them, and the show leans into that structure: some chapters play like a horror short, others like a stage musical or a whodunit. The Road even has its own song, which you will probably be humming afterward.
The big question the series keeps asking is simple: why does anyone trust Agatha? She lies easily, she uses people, and she is honest about almost none of it. Watching the coven work that out, one trial at a time, is a lot of the fun. By the end, the show has answered most of what it set up, including who the teenager really is.
Where Agatha All Along fits in the watch order
The series belongs to Phase 5 of the Multiverse Saga. Its events are placed in 2026 on our timeline, a few years after the Westview incident. If you follow story order, the stop before it is Deadpool & Wolverine, and the next one is Daredevil: Born Again. Neither has anything to do with witches.
That kind of jump is normal for this stretch of the MCU, where shows run side by side rather than in one tight thread. Our Multiverse Saga in order guide lays out Phases 4 to 6 in one list, so you can see how it slots in with the films around it.
Is it essential? How it connects to the MCU
On our list it is marked optional. Nothing in the big crossover movies depends on it right now, so if you only want the main storyline, you can pass. Our Marvel Phase 5 in order guide shows which titles of that phase carry more weight.
That said, it is one of the better entry points into the magic side of the universe. It expands on witchcraft, introduces new characters who look built to return, and resolves questions WandaVision left open. The story also continues: VisionQuest is listed as the follow-up that builds on this corner of the MCU.
Cast and characters
Jac Schaeffer, the creative lead behind WandaVision, steered this series too. Kathryn Hahn returns as Agnes O'Connor and Agatha Harkness, and she is the reason the show works: sly, petty and occasionally vulnerable. Joe Locke plays Teen, the coven's youngest and most secretive member. Patti LuPone is Lilia Calderu, a divination witch whose scattered sense of time turns out to matter. Sasheer Zamata plays potions expert Jennifer Kale, and Ali Ahn is Alice Wu-Gulliver, a protection witch with a family history on the Road. Debra Jo Rupp also comes back as Mrs. Hart.
How to watch it
Two episodes per evening is a comfortable pace, since several end on cliffhangers and the shorter ones fly by. Do not skip the musical numbers either: the lyrics carry real story information. If you are tracking every series, our Marvel TV shows in order list puts it next to the other Disney Plus releases so you can see what to watch before and after.
