VisionQuest watch order: the two shows to see first
WandaVision is the one title you cannot skip. VisionQuest follows White Vision, the version of the character created in that show's finale, and the official premise picks up directly from those events. Without it, the central question of the new series, why this Vision carries memories that do not feel like his own, makes very little sense.
Agatha All Along is the second recommended stop. It continues the Westview story from Agatha Harkness' side and shows some of what Wanda's actions left behind. It is not a Vision story, so treat it as useful context rather than strict homework. If time is tight, WandaVision alone will carry you through.
Vision's story before the new series
New to the character? His history runs back through the Infinity Saga, and a handful of films make WandaVision hit much harder. Here is the short path in story order:
| Title | Why it matters for VisionQuest |
|---|
| Avengers: Age of Ultron | Vision is created and joins the Avengers |
| Captain America: Civil War | His bond with Wanda grows |
| Avengers: Infinity War | Their relationship faces its hardest test |
| WandaVision | White Vision is created |
| Agatha All Along | The Westview fallout continues |
With only a weekend, the last two rows are enough. With a week, the full path gives the memory theme real weight, because you will have seen the very moments White Vision is now trying to make sense of. Our Vision character guide lists every appearance in order, including smaller ones the table leaves out.
Where VisionQuest sits on the MCU timeline
VisionQuest is a Phase 6 series in the Multiverse Saga. Its exact story year is still listed as to be announced, and our timeline currently places it after Spider-Man: Brand New Day and before Avengers: Doomsday. That puts it among the last stops before the next Avengers team-up. We have not seen official confirmation that the two stories connect, so we will not claim one, and this page will change if that does.
To see the series next to everything released around it, our Marvel Phase 6 in order guide has the full lineup. The broader Multiverse Saga watch order covers every title from Phase 4 onward, which is handy if you are catching up on the whole era.
What VisionQuest is about, spoiler-free
The official synopsis is brief. After the events of WandaVision, White Vision struggles to connect with the memories given to him, because he lacks the emotions or feelings tied to them. It is a quieter hook than most Marvel premises: less about a villain, more about identity and what makes a memory truly yours.
The cast list hints at the setting. Several names belong to artificial intelligences from earlier MCU films: J.A.R.V.I.S. and F.R.I.D.A.Y., Tony Stark's digital assistants; E.D.I.T.H., the system from Spider-Man: Far From Home; and D.U.M.-E and U, the clumsy robot arms from Tony's workshop. For a series about a synthetic being and his past, that is a fitting group to bring back. How each one fits in, we will leave for the show to reveal.
Is VisionQuest essential?
We list it as recommended. One season of 8 episodes is a manageable commitment, and it continues the story of a character who has stood with the Avengers since the Infinity Saga. If you only follow the major films, you can wait and see how much later titles lean on it. If WandaVision was a favorite, put this near the top of your list.
Quick tips before you press play
- Rewatch the last two episodes of WandaVision. That is where White Vision first appears, and his scenes are short enough to forget.
- Give the first episode your full attention. A memory-driven story is easy to lose if you are half watching.
- Refresh your memory of Tony's AI helpers. Iron Man and Spider-Man: Far From Home are the quickest reminders of who J.A.R.V.I.S. and E.D.I.T.H. are.
Cast and creative team
Paul Bettany returns as the Vision, a role he has played since the Avengers films. Terry Matalas leads the series. The supporting cast includes Henry Lewis as D.U.M.-E, Jonathan Sayer as U, James D'Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S., Orla Brady as F.R.I.D.A.Y. and Emily Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H.
