A short phase with a big finish

Phase 6 is short on titles, but it carries more weight than any phase since Phase 3. Two Avengers films sit at the end of it, and the Multiverse Saga closes with Avengers: Secret Wars. Everything before those two films is, in one way or another, a lead-in.

The order is our story timeline, and here it matches the release sequence. Expect it to shift anyway. Upcoming projects sometimes move dates, and new titles can be added to a phase after announcements. We update the list when that happens, so check back before you plan the last stretch.

What each title brings

The Fantastic 4: First Steps. Marvel's first family arrives at last, in a retro-styled world of their own. This is the one Phase 6 film you should treat as essential, since the team is clearly being set up for the larger story.

Wonder Man. A live-action series about Simon Williams, an actor with powers, trying to make it in Hollywood. Its tone is lighter and more self-contained than most Marvel shows.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tom Holland's Peter Parker returns after the events of No Way Home, living in a world that has forgotten who he is.

VisionQuest. A series that follows Vision, picking up threads left by WandaVision.

Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The two-part finish. We are not going to guess at plot. The official overview for Avengers: Doomsday describes heroes from different universes heading for a collision, and that is all anyone outside the studio knows for certain.

How Phase 6 fits the Multiverse Saga

The Multiverse Saga is Phases 4, 5 and 6 together. Phase 4 opened the door with Loki, What If...? and No Way Home, showing that other realities exist and can spill into each other. Phase 5 pushed further with Quantumania and Deadpool & Wolverine, and it reshuffled who defends Earth through Brave New World and Thunderbolts*.

Phase 6 is where those threads are supposed to meet. That is why a family from another universe opens it, and why the last two films are Avengers stories rather than solo adventures. Think of it as the third act rather than a fresh start.

Keeping up as titles arrive

Because the phase is spread out, a simple routine works better than a marathon. Watch each new title soon after it lands, then do a short refresher from the catch-up list below in the weeks before each Avengers film. Our Marvel TV shows in order guide is handy for slotting Wonder Man and VisionQuest between the movies without losing track.

Who should follow this order

If you are caught up through Phase 5, this is your next step. Take the titles in order and you are covered.

If you are joining late, Phase 6 is a poor starting point. The Avengers films will assume years of history. A better plan is to work through the earlier phases first, using the MCU chronological order as your main list, and arrive here once you know who everyone is.

Short route and full route

The short route is Fantastic 4, Brand New Day and the two Avengers films. Those four carry the main plot as far as we can tell from what is released and announced.

The full route adds Wonder Man and VisionQuest. VisionQuest is the more relevant of the two if you liked WandaVision. Wonder Man is easy to enjoy on its own and harder to call required.

Your catch-up list before Doomsday

Phase 6 leans on a handful of older titles more than others. If your memory is hazy, these are the ones to revisit first:

  • Thunderbolts*, the most direct lead-in from Phase 5
  • Spider-Man: No Way Home, which sets up Peter's situation in Brand New Day
  • WandaVision, the starting point for VisionQuest
  • Loki, for the multiverse rules behind the whole saga
  • Deadpool & Wolverine and Captain America: Brave New World, for the state of the wider universe going in

You do not need everything from Phases 4 and 5. With this list behind you, the Avengers films should land properly.

Mistakes to avoid

Treating rumors as facts. Phase 6 attracts endless casting and plot leaks. Plan around official titles and dates only.

Saving everything for one late binge. With releases spread across several years, it is easier to watch each title as it lands than to cram them all right before Secret Wars.

Forgetting the side universes. Fantastic 4 takes place outside the main MCU world. That is intentional, so do not worry if it seems disconnected at first.

Assuming Wonder Man is required. It is a fun, contained story, and nothing announced so far suggests the Avengers films depend on it.

For the bigger picture, our Marvel movies in order guide shows where Phase 6 sits among every film.

Frequently Asked Questions

What titles are in Marvel Phase 6?

Our Phase 6 list has six titles: The Fantastic 4: First Steps, Wonder Man, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, VisionQuest, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars. The list may grow as new projects are announced.

What order should I watch Phase 6 in?

Start with The Fantastic 4: First Steps, then Wonder Man, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and VisionQuest. Finish with Avengers: Doomsday and then Avengers: Secret Wars.

What should I watch before Phase 6?

Thunderbolts* and Spider-Man: No Way Home are the most useful lead-ins. WandaVision is also worth seeing before VisionQuest, and Loki helps with the multiverse ideas behind the whole saga.

Is The Fantastic 4: First Steps part of the main MCU?

It is a Phase 6 film, but it takes place in a separate universe from the one the Avengers live in. That is a deliberate choice, and the team is clearly being set up to cross paths with the main MCU later in the phase.

Do I need to watch Wonder Man?

No, Wonder Man is the most optional title in Phase 6. It is a lighter, self-contained series about Simon Williams in Hollywood, and nothing announced so far ties it directly to the Avengers films.

Is Avengers: Secret Wars the end of the Multiverse Saga?

Yes, Avengers: Secret Wars is described as the finale of the Multiverse Saga. It is the last title on our Phase 6 list and comes after Avengers: Doomsday.

Which Phase 6 titles are essential?

The Fantastic 4: First Steps, Spider-Man: Brand New Day and the two Avengers films look like the core of the phase. Wonder Man and VisionQuest are good additions, with VisionQuest closer to the main story.

What Marvel movies are coming out this year?

On our Phase 6 list, Wonder Man, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, VisionQuest and Avengers: Doomsday carry 2026 dates, and Avengers: Secret Wars is set for 2027. Dates can move, so check each title's page, which we update as the studio confirms them.

Do I need to rewatch everything before Avengers: Doomsday?

No. A short catch-up list does the job: Thunderbolts*, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Loki and The Fantastic 4: First Steps cover most of what the film is likely to build on.
